There are many things you could consider, such as how long they have been around, how many companies they have worked with, what type of companies they have worked with and whether their style of writing appeals to you.

How Much Work Experience Do They Have?

When picking an SEO company, it's a great idea to look at the work they have done previously. How many years have they been in the SEO game? How many companies have they worked with?

Most companies will be happy to give you a list of their clients and point out exactly what they have done for them. You can check out the clients' websites and see how the copy reads. Obviously, the more work experience a company has, the better.

What Kind of Work Experience Do They Have?

It's not only the amount of work experience that a company has that matters. It's also the type of work experience. For example, if a company has worked with a lot of product-oriented businesses but you're a service-oriented business, then they may not be the best fit for you.

On the other hand, an SEO company might have less work experience but it might all be in the field in which you work. This will make them a better fit for your business.

Are They Promising You Big-Time Results or Moderate Results?

It's easy to get carried away with a company who promises you many things, including immediate results, big-time results, virality etc. But most of these claims tend to be bogus. Instead, it's a good idea to go with a reputable company which promises you moderate results.

As with everything else, slow and steady wins the race when it comes to SEO. Although it is possible for something you post to go viral, it's better not to expect this type of result. The idea is to keep updating your online presence and slowly increasing your viewers/followers rather than just trying to get a lot of followers at one go.
