Sigma Publications

Sigma Publications are one of our oldest clients. Their series of Maths and English write-on exercise workbooks have been a staple resource in NZ schools for decades and many students and parents will be familiar with their famous Dragon Maths workbooks.

We were delighted to work with Keith and the team to completely rebuild their ecommerce website and bring the gorgeous illustrations from the workbooks to life through innovative use of animation, banners and image placement.

It's fair to say that a huge amount of thought was put into the navigation for this website design to take account of the different audiences. Teachers generally know what book level to buy, so we created a navigation aimed at teachers where the books are categorised by Primary, Intermediate, Junior Secondary and NCEA level. Parents however tend to think in year groups, so we created a navigation aimed at parents where the books are categorised by school year.

The shopping cart process allows schools to pay on account, whereas non-account holders are able to pay by credit card. The shopping cart checkout process also automatically applies bulk discounts (called tiered pricing).

Anyone who's ever picked up a Sigma workbook will know that they are anything but boring and we made really good use of their incredible illustrations to bring the website to life. But the best bit was working with Pepperbot to animate Pencil Man and the famous dragon from the Dragon Maths series!
