3 Ways to Give Your Social Media Strategy New Life

Apr 15, 2016 by

Social media marketing remains a mystery for many business owners. If you're still trying to figure it out, then consider incorporating these three components in your social media strategy:

Post when the time is rightNew Life

Posting at different hours in the day can be the difference between your content going viral and it just getting buried. According to a recent Memeburn article, however, you shouldn't listen to advice that arbitrarily suggests a specific time to post at:

"Would you actually change the hours where you post updates or simply schedule your posts just because you read somewhere that you should post at a specific time, even if you are not available? There are no one-size-fits-all strategy or a magic button trick that will be perfect for your business. Experiment and learn what works."

The only way you'll figure out your sweet spot is to test and experiment at different times. The advice of others won't necessarily apply, though, because this dynamic is completely dependent on your specific followers.

Write for your target audience

Some businesses get caught up in writing about topics that they find interesting. This might work for a company newsletter, but it's not appropriate content for social media marketing. If you want to generate social signals with your posts, then you need to write content for your target audience.

Target users with social ads

Facebook and Twitter have made it very difficult to get organic traffic on social media. They want you to buy social ads or pay to boost your posts, and if your goal is to add new followers, then it's something you'll have to consider doing. The good news, however, is that the sites provide a ton of analytics and metrics which help you target relevant users. Compared to other forms of online marketing, it's also pretty cost effective.

By posting when your followers are online, writing for your target audience, and buying social ads, you can revamp your social media marketing campaign. To talk more about your social media strategy, or anything else, contact us today.
